What is Gladiatorum herpes?

When an athlete catches gladiatorum herpes he/she can be banned or disqualified from competitions as well as be banned from regular training sessions. Another name for gladiatorum herpes is MAT HERPES.

Herpes gladiatorum, is caused by the herpes simplex virus, this infection is the one responsible for cold sores, blisters. These wrestlers who contract this virus often get sores and blisters around the face and neck area which break open and can weep.

Hygiene tips
